Senior Mortgage Broker
Cheli Aguirre’s relentless determination has helped her to not only withstand market shifts and weather industry ups and downs, but also to win numerous awards doing it. Over her 14-year career, she has striven to provide the best loan product for each client’s needs. Her skills placed her among the top 3 percent of the 200 brokers at her previous company for five consecutive years before she joined Neighborhood Loans – a testament to the talent she brings to the company and each transaction. “I’m passionate about people,” she says, “and understanding their life changes is key and the direct effect on their needs as a homebuyer that is my expertise.”
Aguirre carefully assesses the variables that influence her clients’ home purchases, focusing on their timeline, lifestyle, and immediate and long- term goals. “Getting to know people and what drives their decisionmaking is the first step when it comes to originating a loan for them,” she explains, adding that only then can she offer appropriate counsel to help the client understand the array of loan products available to them. Aguirre’s main objective is to build strong relationships with the buyers whose mortgages she structures. “Establishing a rapport is critical because it allows us to build trust in one another as we work together toward the goal of them being handed the keys to their newly purchased home.”
She counts first-time buyers, seasoned homeowners, and builders among her clients. Serving a range of individuals with diverse needs requires her to be highly knowledgeable of the loans she originates as well as industry changes that affect them. “In my opinion, communication is key because it allows me to keep my clients apprised of what’s happening and why, and that allows us to be partners working together toward a shared goal,” she says. Aguirre adds that “building relationships with agents is exponentially valuable to our clients. The strength that our partnerships bring allows for a smooth, effective process and ultimately benefits our most valuable partner – our clients.”
Alongside her career in lending, Aguirre previously owned a professional networking group, which was featured in a news segment on Univision for its success in building connections for entrepreneurs. She prides herself both on her ability to build successful business relationships, and the fact that she is one of very few seasoned, successful women originators. “I love helping people improve their lives. It’s all about helping people achieve their dream, and when they do, I can say the same about myself. I hope to inspire younger women and people alike to be a part of this exciting, hugely rewarding industry. I absolutely love what I do. It’s a dream come true.”
