Real Estate Broker
Jameson Sotheby’s International Realty
Ilsa Conover has always been ambitious. As a child, a love of real estate and a penchant for sketching floor plans made her a perfect fit for a career as a Broker. Her extensive knowledge of Chicago is due to childhood spent in the city. As a true insider when it comes to the local real estate market, Conover’s clients benefit from her unique ability to introduce them to its amazing neighborhoods and attractions that they might otherwise overlook on their search for the ideal home. And concurrently, sellers laud her as relentlessly diligent and commend her outstanding marketing talents.
Having entered the industry in 2005 after completing studies at Indiana University, Conover sold new construction and condominium conversions for local developers for three years before joining Jameson Sotheby’s. As the economic recession hit the industry hard, she nonetheless found success by focusing on the sale of foreclosure properties, closing an average of 30 distressed property purchases each month and earning certification in short sales.
Conover’s experience includes buying and selling throughout Chicago, but she particularly specializes in the downtown market and the sale of lofts, luxury condominiums and townhouses in the area. A resident of Lincoln Park, she says, “I have an intimate knowledge of the value of individual properties as well as the financial status of the buildings in the area.” Her clients view her as a trusted advisor even after their business concludes, which is why so many continue to partner with her and refer their friends and family to her. “My goal is to exceed each customer’s expectations and create a relationship with that customer for life,” she explains. She did just that when she executed the sale of her client’s condominium at 1122 W. Catalpa Avenue at the highest selling price in the building since the recession.
A member of the Women’s Council of Realtors and a volunteer on behalf of Realtors to the Rescue through which she addresses the plight of homeless pets, Conover says her primary goal is to help her clients either find just the right home or sell their current residence in keeping with their preferred timeline so that they achieve the winning results they desire. While that requires perseverance and patience, Conover is up to the challenge because, as she says, “I work tirelessly to get every deal closed.”
