Agent Snapshot: Helen Oliveri, President and Broker of The Helen Oliveri Team, Keller Williams Realty Partners

Helen-Oliveri

What was your first job in the realty industry?
I was a Realtor at Koenig & Strey in Glenview

Where did you grow up? Lincolnwood

Growing up, what did you want to be? A teacher, like my father.

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed?  Shopping!  No, seriously, I typically talk to my husband Danny and then I have clarity.  I also enjoy going for a walk and playing with my two children.

If you could have lunch with a well-known figure (living or not), who would ti be and why? Gary Keller.  Although I have met with him before, I would love a day to shadow him in his environment and to thoroughly pick his genius brain.

Where is your favorite place to hang out? Home.  I love family time with my husband, kids and extended family.  Family grounds me, and there is nothing more important to me than being with them.  Our house is just perfect for us, so we spend a lot of time there.

What do you love most about the industry? The constant change and challenges the business poses.  There is an unlimited opportunity to grow beyond your wildest dreams, and this career has changed my life.  I am grateful that I found my true passion and the fact that I can impact the lives of both my clients and my teammates.  There is no greater satisfaction than seeing the results of my efforts through people and their goals being realized.  It’s truly amazing!

How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents? I would say everything I do is different.  I do my best to innovate daily and to be the company and broker that is always above and beyond the current trends.  I have extremely high expectations of myself and everyone affiliated with me, so I expect the best.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job? Managing growth.  With growth comes growing pains, and for my organization it’s always growth management that I struggle with.  Throughout my intense career, I have reinvented our company many times, and through the constant change comes learning and experience.  While rewarding, it certainly can be difficult and a challenge.

Where do you go to network and meet new clients? Everywhere.  Everything I do is networking. Networking is what I do and have always done even before I was a real estate broker.  I have a knack for bringing people together and I love it!

What has been your greatest accomplishment? My family.  There is no greater reward than my two children and the home that my husband and I have built.  Also, my business.  I have accomplished most of my goals and dreams and now with two offices, the sky is the limit.  I have worked tirelessly for it but I still have to pinch myself to remind myself it’s all real!

What was the last good movie you saw or book you read?  “First, Fast, Fearless:  How to lead like a Navy Seal” by Brian “Iron Ed” Hiner.

What is your favorite restaurant? Wildfire.  Everything they serve is delicious and fresh.

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Chicago? Trump Tower. It’s stoic, classic, elegant and timeless.

What kind of car do you drive? A 2015 brand new Range Rover 5.0, V8 Supercharged.

Smartphone or paper? Smartphone all the way.  Nothing beats todays technology.

What is your favorite city after Chicago? Laguna Beach, California.  Its simply gorgeous and beautiful.

In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry?  Tell me no, so I can figure out how to get you to say yes.  NEVER give up.  You can have it all and you deserve it.

What’s your favorite real estate iPhone/Android app? KW home search app.  The best!

Who are your favorite people to follow on Twitter?  My team would have to answer that one.  Who has time to tweet?
