As an options trader at the Chicago Board Options Exchange, Young Lee developed the ability to analyze data and asset pricing and to use probability to forecast future trends. “Trading also helped me become a skilled negotiator and to work with all different types of people,” he says. These attributes, along with his economics degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, play a significant role in his success as a Realtor.
“I got my trading license in 2006, but I quickly fell in love with real estate,” Lee says. “I was also attracted to the industry because I could be my own boss and be in charge of how successful I was going to be.”
Very goal-oriented, Lee recently accomplished one of his biggest ambitions: In his first full year with @properties, he was inducted into their Road to Rolex club. “I am a big believer in having goals, and this one definitely drove me every day,” Lee says.
A member of the Tom Ferry coaching organization, the Asian Real Estate Association of America and the Chicago Association of Realtors, Lee has been named a CAR top producer for seven consecutive years. His ability to connect with people and understand their point of view has led to numerous referrals. “I really try to put myself in my clients’ shoes and help them make the best decision for their current situation,” Lee says.
A big believer in giving back, Lee donates a portion of his commissions to various charities. He is also on the board of directors for the Hanul Family Alliance, a nonprofit organization that helps provide food for the elderly, with a primary focus on the Korean community. He also helps organize fundraising events for the nonprofit GRIP Outreach for Youth, which invests in the lives of fatherless children in Chicago. In addition to all this, he is a proud and devoted husband and father.
