38 Percent of Listings in the MLS Have Only One Photo

by Chicago Agent

This is an interesting yet shocking statistic: LeapRE found that a whopping 38 percent of listings in the MLS only have one photo that show the property. Yes, 38 percent – not quite almost half of all listings – have just one photo for homebuyers to see. At least 35 percent of agents put 16 photos of a home they’re trying to sell on the MLS.

  • Interesting that 38 % only have one picture- almost guarantees that the house will be skipped over and never viewed. But on the flip side, there’s nothing sillier than having 16 pictures, where you have to stretch to get so many. At our office meetings we we actually “vote” for the worst photos on line-

What is worse, is the agent who is so lazy that they just put in the Cook County Assessor photo. What would the seller say if they knew that. Did they even look at the property? Even if it is a foreclosure, why provide a misleading picture. If they are truly that lazy, I can’t imagine they would work real hard in keeping a deal together in these tough times.
