Getting social

by Agent Publishing

Social media is, unsurprisingly, my favorite thing. I’m addicted. I’m scrolling. So that’s why this might be my favorite issue of the year. In Chicago Agent’s annual tech issue, we’re turning an eye to various social platforms — all of which I scour to bring you the monthly gossip.

First, @properties Christie’s International Real Estate held its “Timeless” event on May 1 — formerly known as the Road to Rolex awards. You know the ones. The day that all those
@prop agents get dripped out in fancy watches. Now, however, the watches aren’t just Rolex; they’re also by Breitling, Omega, Hublot, Cartier, Panerai and IWC. This year’s party took place in the Art Institute’s Modern Wing. How posh.

A week later, COMPASS Chicagoland held its annual Legends Society party at The Wellsley. The evening celebrated top-producing agents who came to drink, dance and earn fancy glass trophies. Brad Lippitz was also recognized with the company’s Lifetime Achievement Award.

On May 16, Dream Town’s Danny Lewis held a broker’s open — with a bags tournament — at a swanky new penthouse listing. Agents arrived to 700 W. Van Buren St. ready to compete, drink, dig into H Mart sushi and take in views of the Sears Tower. The shindig was sponsored by Joel Schaub and Chris Titcomb.

The same night, Coldwell Banker Realty held its annual Central West awards celebration at Joe’s Live in Rosemont. Over 300 people turned out to party and recognize the company’s top-producing agents.

Then, on May 21, Beth Lothamer and The Lothamer Group hosted a charity pickleball tournament at SPF benefitting Humble Design. Agents and clients were both in attendance, and sponsors raffled off prizes, including a three-day trip to New Buffalo won by Patrick Shipp of COMPASS.

And, as May transitions into June, we’re entering the best part of the year: Pride Month! In Chicago, it’s such a colorful, fun time, and you already know the real estate community turns up. One of our fave annual parties, Engel & Völkers’ Pride Leadership Summit, kicks off June 2 with a Sunday reception at the Lakeview shop.

Meanwhile, we’re also gearing up to celebrate all the June babies! On June 6, Amanda McMillan Dollinger turns a year older, followed by Rebecca Thomson on June 7 and Natasha Motev on June 8. Then, on June 11, we have birthday twins Joe Zimmerman and Jody Kelly followed up by Darlene Little on June 12. On June 17, b-day twins Mabel Guzman and Karen Schmid are getting the party started, which Ginna Ryan continues June 18 and Jennifer Leong on June 19. Then, Julius Barrutia and Colleen Harper on June 21, Rebecca Jensen on June 22 and Heidi Seagren on June 24. Dan Wagner closes out the month on June 27, but luckily Joan Maloney and Rich Rogala are there to keep the party going into July on the 2nd and 3rd, respectively.
