Why this Logan Square listing is going viral

by Emily Mack

Zany listings are always popular online. (Have you seen Barbie’s real-life dream house?) The wilder, the better. Now, one wild house is going viral — and it’s right here at home in Logan Square.

From the outside, it’s your typical Chicago home: an A-frame, red-brick, single-family dwelling on the corner of Sacramento and Fullerton Avenue. Almost nondescript … though the inside is anything but: a glitzy open concept affixed with walls of mirrors and busy, black-and-white patterns.

Commenters were quick to call out the listing’s surprising interior, comparing it to “Beetlejuice” and “The Sims” computer game. “You are unprepared for the inside,” reads the original, now-viral, tweet by @cat_jail that linked to the listing.

But as one Chicagoan, @MegToDiffer, replied: “I recognized this immediately and I was in fact prepared, because I lived a block away for two years and stared in confusion through the windows every time I walked by.”

Here at Chicago Agent, however, we think the house looks fabulous. As any good Realtor would tell you, the home has character.

Located at 3010 W. Fullerton Ave., the property is currently listed for $650,000. Leyla Jimenez of RE/MAX Loyalty is overseeing the sale.
