National and local housing resources for LGBTQ+ youth

There are many reasons why LGBTQ+ youth experience housing insecurity. A recent report from Today’s Homeowner cites familial rejection, discrimination, mental health challenges, lack of a support network and economic instability as just a few of the roadblocks these youth face when it comes to obtaining housing.

One organization working to combat LGBTQ+ youth housing insecurity in Chicago is The Night Ministry. It shelters people through its Youth Housing Program, which is dedicated to ending youth homelessness.
