The Heartland REALTOR® Organization installed new officers and directors at a swearing-in ceremony on Sept. 6.

Karen Conley-Sabella succeeded Tim Sebastian as president; Sebastian is now immediate past-president. Melissa Kostelnik is the new president-elect and Maureen Forgette, the new secretary/treasurer.

In addition to that leadership team, the full board includes Lori Amato, Erin Bjornson, John Broda, Dawn Hinton, Kevin Kalbach, Jennifer Long and Michael Simpson with outgoing directors Nicole LaMorte, TJ Madigan and John Reinert having made their official exit.

At Tuesday’s event, Heartland also honored various members with special awards.

Heartland’s 2023 REALTOR® of the Year (ROTY) was presented to Pattie Palzet-Taylor, of RE/MAX Plaza, and the 2023 Affiliate of the Year (AOTY) was presented to Amber Bishop, of SmithAmundsen. Both the ROTY and AOTY recognize the winner’s impact on their community.

The Good Neighbor Award went to two members this year: Erin Bjornson, of Glacier Realty, Inc., and Lisa Godzicki, of RE/MAX Plaza. The Distinguished Member Award went to three: Rob Schaid, of RE/MAX Plaza, Nancy Sobol, of Compass and Diana Wood, of Brokerocity, Inc.

“[The recipients’] accomplishments truly reflect their career-defining dedication to high standards and excellence and serves as an inspiration to all,” read a statement from the organization.
