Janet Owen of BHHS Chicago breaks 2022 records with $8.65M sale

by Emily Mack

Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Chicago broker Janet Owen has sold a home, located at 1837 N. Orchard Street, for $8.65 million, marking the highest price paid for a detached single-family home in 2022 so far, in both the city of Chicago and the state of Illinois. It is one of only six city sales this year to exceed $5,000,000.

Built on an oversized lot in Lincoln Park, the impressive property boasts 8,410 square feet, six bedrooms and 6.5 bathrooms. “I’m delighted for my sellers as well as the buyers who have a wonderful place to call home. It is truly a wonderful residence — spacious and beautiful inside and out,” Owen said in a press release.

David Bracy and Alan Zuber, the managing brokers of BHHS Chicago’s Michigan Avenue office, also congratulated Owen in the press release. “She is the consummate professional who provides her clients with a tailored residential real estate service and experience that is second to none,” Bracy said, noting, “She was so pleased to find a buyer prior to going live in the multiple listing service.”
