No. 10: 60305, River Forest
This River Forest ZIP codes ranks at No. 10, with a median home value of $663,779. The area, right on the border of Oak Park, has experienced a price increase of 7.1% over the past year alone. Over the past five years, 8.3%.
No. 9: 60614, Chicago
Centered around the neighborhood of Lincoln Park, ZIP code 60614 is the only city proper ZIP code to crack this list. With a median home price of $664,683, the desirable area has experienced a 5.1% price increase over the past year and an 8.3% increase over the past years.
No. 8: 60523, Oak Brook
The ZIP code of 60523 in Oak Brook has a median home value of $716,261 and has experienced the bulk of that price appreciation in the past year: 7.2%. The area’s five-year price change is up 7.8%.
No. 7: 60091, Wilmette
Located in Wilmette, this expensive ZIP code has cracked the top 10 before. And this year is no exception, with a price hike of 5.6%. The mean home value there is now $772,272: up 10.1% from five years ago.
No. 6: 60045, Lake Forest
The Lake Forest ZIP code 60045 experienced a 13.3% increase during the past year and now has a median home value of $836,529. That marks a 4.4% five-year price increase.
No. 5: 60029, Golf
The small village of Golf, Ill. is home to just one ZIP Code — and it’s one of the most expensive in the state. With approximately just 160 households, median home value in Golf is $904,190. The area has experienced a 13.9% one-year price increase and a 12.2% five-year price increase.
No. 4: 60521, Hinsdale
One of the three ZIP codes in Hinsdale, 60521, has a high median home value of $907,970. Although, comparatively, the area hasn’t experienced much of a price hike in recent years: up 4.1% from last year and up just 1% from five years ago.
No. 3: 60093, Winnetka
As the sole Winnetka ZIP code, the median home value in 60093 is the first on this list to crack one million: $1,166,327. That’s a 6.3% increase from last year and a 10.6% increase from five years ago.
No. 2: 60022, Glencoe
With a median home value of $1,169,303, property prices in Glencoe’s 60022 ZIP code are up 8.8% from a year ago and up 12.6% from five years ago.
No. 1: 60043, Kenilworth
And finally, No. 1 on the list —with a whopping home value of $1,495,365 — is ZIP code 60043. Making up the North Shore village of Kenilworth, property prices in this area have increased 7.9% in the past year and 13% over the past five years.
