@properties has hired real estate attorney Amanda Anderson, J.D., to serve as compliance counsel: a newly-created position at the company. In the new role, Anderson will work with outside counsel and develop ongoing training for @properties agents. She will also manage licensing, agency, ethics and disclosure issues for the brokerage.
After earning her J.D. from the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law, Anderson spent nearly 20 years with the Chicago Association of REALTORS®. At CAR, she served as the vice president of member care and professional standards and oversaw the National Association of REALTORS® professional standards process for more than 15,000 members. Most recently, Anderson was a real estate attorney with Chicago’s The Gunderson Law Firm.
“Compliance, professional standards and ethics are cornerstones of the real estate business, and as Chicagoland’s largest brokerage firm – and one of the fastest-growing brokerage firms in the country – it’s important for @properties to lead in these areas,” said @properties’ co-founder and co-CEO Mike Golden in a press release. “Amanda is one of the industry’s most respected experts on these issues and will ensure that our agents and our company continue to promote the high standards to which we hold ourselves.”
