@properties donates $5,000 to the Big Shoulders Fund

by Emily Mack

@gives back, a philanthropic arm of the residential brokerage firm @properties, has donated $5,000 to the Big Shoulders Fund. Founded in 1986, this Chicago-based charity benefits inner city children through providing educational opportunities. @properties made the substantial donation in honor of the organization’s upcoming 15th Annual Big Shoulders Fund Ball.

The ball, hosted by the Next Generation Boards, will be held on Oct. 1, 2021, at Wintrust Grand Banking Hall. Annually, the Big Shoulders Fund invests more than $20 million in local education initiatives: scholarship support, school operation improvements, leadership development programs as well as academic programs for teachers. 100% percent of the funds raised for the Annual Big Shoulders Fund Ball will go towards those efforts.

Pasquale Recchia, an @properties broker associate, is also a member of the Big Shoulders Fund Chairman’s Advisory Council. “@properties’ donation and continued support of the Big Shoulders Fund is critical to increasing awareness for the organization and its mission,” she said. “I am proud to work with a company that is devoted to bettering the lives of Chicagoans in need, especially children.”

The @gives back division of @properties was established in 2009 by co-CEOs Thad Wong and Michael Golden to support local organizations and inspire charity among brokers.
