Construction starts on East Lakeview development
Draper and Karmer announced that it began construction on a new transit-oriented multifamily development in East Lakeview this month. Located across from the Sheridan Red Line station, the seven-story, 120-unit mixed-use development will replace a single-story building. The development will be mostly 1-bed/1-bath, but will include 12 2-bed/2-bath units. Rates start at $1,900 per month.
“Wrigleyville, in particular, has seen a wave of new mixed-use projects that have transformed the area into a year-round destination for visitors and, increasingly, a full-time home for Chicagoans drawn to the area’s numerous amenities, including convenient access to the lakefront and public transit,” said Todd Bancroft, Draper and Kramer’s CEO, in a press release.
The building will be dark red brick, similar to the neighborhood’s historic apartment buildings, with large windows. The development is expected to be finished in August 2021.
Luxury condominiums coming online in Elmhurst
One95, a new 20-unit condominium building in suburban Elmhurst, are already 40% sold, with deliveries beginning after Labor Day, according to developer DiCosola Group. The single-level homes were designed for empty nesters wanting a low-maintenance second home close to children and grandchildren. “One95 fills the void of having a large home on one floor with all of the amenities of a single-family home and none of the yard work maintenance,” said Deanne Mazzochi, one of the project’s developers.
Every home is a corner unit with open concept floor plans, a large family room, a private outdoor terrace and 10-foot windows. Units have three bedrooms and 2.5 baths and come in at 2,200 square feet. Prices range from $819,900 to $1,299,900.
New development in Lincoln Park nears closeout
Last week, Sandz Development and @properties Developer Services announced that the 12-story, 95-unit building known as Webster Square is nearing closeout with only 11 residences remaining.
“As the only new, full-amenity condo building in east Lincoln Park, Webster Square is extremely attractive to buyers looking for a high-rise lifestyle in an established neighborhood setting,” Cyndy Salgado, executive vice president of development sales for @properties Developer Services, said in a press release.
Units range one to two bedrooms and include a private balcony and access to a residents-only landscaped park. Prices fall between $465,000 and $853,00.
