@properties hires new VP of product development
Yesterday, @properties announced it would be bringing on its first-ever vice president of product development, a position created to bump up its suite of real estate tech applications known as pl@tform.
Dana Bina will be stepping into the role with more than 20 years of applicable experience. She worked at Leapfrog Online — a digital marketing agency — for close to 12 years and has helped major brands such as Levi’s, Hollister and Comcast with both their marketing and technology needs. Her experience with major brands in the past is why @properties wanted her to run the firm’s emerging tech suite for both real estate agents and clients according to @properties co-founder Thad Wong.
“Dana’s arrival signals a new phase for @properties as a technology firm,” Wong said in a press release. “Her talents and experience make us more nimble, powerful and efficient as we grow the offerings within pl@tform while simultaneously integrating the software into new markets and organizations.”
Guaranteed Rate Affinity hires new senior vice president
Jim Anderson will be the new senior vice president of strategic growth for Guaranteed Rate Affinity. Coming to the firm from First Look Appraisals, he will focus on the corporate side of the business, developing partnerships with borrowers and strategic partners.
“Guaranteed Rate Affinity has experienced impressive growth over the past few years, and we are looking forward to our continued success as we bring Jim on board,” said David Dickey, executive vice president of national production for the firm, in a press release. “Jim has an extensive track record and passion for this industry, and he will be incredibly valuable in fostering and building our partnerships so that we can serve even more borrowers.”
A joint venture between Guaranteed Rate, Inc. and Realogy Holdings Corp, Guaranteed Rate Affinity was incorporated in 2017 to focus on helping clients with the mortgage process.
Proper Title hires real estate veteran as a consultant
Proper Title announced this week that Dick Bales would be coming out of retirement to serve as a consultant and general counsel for the Palatine-based title insurance agency.
“Dick Bales is basically the godfather of title,” said Kathy Kwak, executive vice president of operations and counsel for Proper Title, said in a press release. “Dick’s expertise will help strengthen our attorney-agent client relationships, especially as we grow our business into new Chicago suburban markets. ”
Most recently with Chicago Title Insurance Company, Bales is known for authoring multiple books and several articles published by both the Illinois Bar Association and the American Bar Association. His book, “A Guide to Residential and Commercial Surveys in Illinois,” was used as a teaching tool for those learning the trade and was published by the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education.
Proper Title will leverage Bales’ experience to help grow its market of 10 closing offices in the Chicago Area.
