Curvilinear fortress up for auction

by Chicago Agent

Want to own Frank Lloyd Wright’s last project? The Circular Sun House, the last home design Wright worked on before he died in 1959, is hitting the auction block with no reserve on Oct. 16. The three-bedroom, three-bath home is located on 1.3 acres on the edge of the Phoenix Mountains Preserve and celebrates curves in a way that’s emblematic of his later designs with a distinctive curved kitchen, crescent-shaped pool and half-moon windows. The property’s collection of Wright’s mid-century modern furniture, including small stools, nightstands and end tables, will also be conveyed in the sale.
