Prepared for anything
Those who fear the end is near might be interested in this apocalypse prepper’s paradise, on the market for $18 million. Just outside Death Valley National Park in Goldfield, Nevada, this circular home has 22 rooms and 16-inch-thick concrete walls. Inside, the house has a self-sustained energy system that runs on wind and solar power and a 4,000-gallon rain catchment and water storage system. Not foreboding enough for you? The two large pipe organs that can be heard from anywhere in the house may help with that.
Small place, huge price
This tiny New Hampshire cottage has been listed for $2 million, or about $6,250 per square foot. The house is located on .34 acres of Portsmouth’s highly sought-after Historic South End. While the cottage itself may not be the focal point of the listing, the close proximity to downtown Portsmouth and the Piscataqua River are what give this property its hefty price tag.
