Agent X: Who really is who?

I know I say this about a lot of issues, but Who’s Who really is one of my absolutely faves. And it’s not just because I’ve been featured a few times, though that doesn’t hurt. It’s fun seeing all the agents and brokers and whatnot looking all gussied up in a professional photo in front of a fancy background. Also, the issue keeps getting bigger and bigger and bigger. My arm is going to hurt lugging it through my palatial estate.

Naturally, I can’t tell you if I’m actually making an appearance this year or not, because you little detectives would compare and contrast and figure out my true identity. Then again, some of you probably already think you know who I am. If that’s so, then go ahead and put your money where your mouth is! Send an email to agentx@chicago.staging312.com and tell me if I’m in the issue, and which person you think is me. If anyone guesses correctly, you’ll get a prize. Really, if you just want to guess whether or not I’m in the issue at all and you’re right, then you could still get a prize. My editors didn’t exactly approve that one, but what they don’t know won’t hurt them, right? While you’re at it, throw in some gossip. Keep in mind that there’s no such thing as inappropriate when it comes to gossip. Now sit back, relax and pour yourself a glass of bubbly (or two) as you dive in. As I mentioned, it’s a long issue, so maybe keep the bottle handy.

People are super busy these days. Moving, shaking, hustling, getting deals done. And then there are also a lot of you hanging out on boats and going to Cubs games. I suppose some people are going to see the White Sox, but it’s not quite the same summer experience. Sox fans, send your complaints to the email listed above. I’m not afraid of you.

Marj Carpenter saw 47 clients for her annual 4th of July pie giveaway. That’s a lot of clients, and even more pie.

On July 13, CAR held their annual golf outing. I couldn’t go; I was too hungover from last year’s golf outing. But I heard fun was had by all.

Mike Opyd and Rafay Qumar held a grand opening party for their new RE/MAX office on July 14. I snuck in and out, so if you were there, don’t think that gives you a leg up in the aforementioned contest. I may have even been in disguise.

I’ve got a lot of birthdays to cover over these hot summer months, so let’s get to it. If you finished your bubbly, then pour yourself some sangria and raise your glass to all these birthday fools. From the looks of it, I’d guess Kim Manning turned about 27 on July 16, though I have no idea how old Erik Stegeman turned on July 18. Gary Benson, Bruce Beddard and Joe McBreen are birthday triplets getting into trouble on July 19, while July 21 belongs to Gail Spreen (I’m a poet and I do know it). Connie Yiannas Antoniou and John Federici celebrate on July 22, while Mike Cuevas shares his July 23 birthday with one of my favorite names of all: Jessica Dangles. Mark Carpenter and Mike Zucker will party down on July 25, and they may meet up with Fran Broude, Ryan Holden and Paul Dincin to get crazy on July 26.
