The Streeterville/Gold Coast area of Chicago is the top luxury housing market in Chicagoland, according to exclusive numbers that Redfin provided Chicago Agent.
In 2016’s third quarter, the market saw 70 sales of $1 million or more, edging out the city’s famed Lincoln Park neighborhood, where there were 62 such sales. There was further distance on the price front – while Lincoln Park’s average sales price slipped 0.4 percent from last year, Streeterville’s rose 16.1 percent.
Of course, Chicagoland’s suburban luxury markets also put up strong numbers, with agents in Winnetka and Hinsdale closing 58 and 51 luxury sales, respectively.
