You can live like the hobbits in Tolkien’s fantasy novels with Green Magic Homes’ earth-sheltered dome homes. The Miami-based company combined building technology with nature to create these prefabricated hobbit-like dwellings, which are confined by walls of reinforced soil and feature “earth berms” on the sides and roof. The company offers nine different floor plans, ranging from compact studios to 1,900-square-foot, four-bedroom homes. With three people, a one-bedroom cabin will take roughly three days to assemble and seal, while a three-bedroom house can take five or six days.
