Victor Ciardelli, Guaranteed Rate founder and CEO, was named “CEO of the Year” at Illinois Technology Association’s 15th annual CityLights Awards.
ITA’s annual CityLights Awards ceremony was held at Morgan Manufacturing in Chicago’s West Loop with more than 600 people in attendance. The CityLights Awards event brings together technology executives, entrepreneurs, corporate executives and investors in the region to recognize excellence in the technology industry during an evening of dining, socializing and celebrating. The awards are delivered based on nominations from the community, a selection of finalists by a judging committee voting by the public at large.
Ciardelli was one of five finalists for the award, and the only finalist not to come from a traditional tech or software company. The CEO of the Year award is given to the CEO who has utilized technology to lead successful company growth through leadership, ability to attract and retain talented resources, financial accomplishments and strategy for continued company growth. While announcing the winners, ITA CEO Fred Hoch said the association is proud to recognize these leaders in Illinois tech.
“The winners represent the leading companies and individuals in Illinois tech, and if history is any indicator, they will do even greater things,” said Hoch. “We are proud to recognize them and be a part of their growth stories.”
