May was another banner month on the price per square foot front, according to the latest numbers from Movoto.
Price per square foot in the Chicagoland housing market rose an incredible 27.6 percent year-over-year in May, increasing from $145 a square foot to $185, according to the latest State of the Market report by Movoto.
That was not only the best yearly increase for Chicagoland’s market in some time, but the strongest such increase in the entire nation; indeed, even housing heavyweights like Houston and San Francisco could not compete with Chicago’s totals.
