September was a VERY positive month for Chicago’s residential construction sector, which saw yearly gains that far outpaced other metro areas.
Though residential construction in Chicagoland remains historically low, the area posted the strongest numbers in the nation among large metro areas in September, according to numbers that McGraw Hill Construction provided us.
Residential construction in Chicagoland totaled more than $391 million in September, a whopping 74 percent increase over last year; the year-to-date total, thus far, comes out to roughly $2.46 billion.
