Homebuyers from Canada, China, Mexico, India and the UK make up 53 percent of all foreign home purchases in the U.S. What do they look for in homes?


Foreign homebuyers accounted for $68.2 billion in home purchases from March 2012 to March 2013, and homebuyers from Canada, China, Mexico, India and the United Kingdom made up 53 percent, or roughly $36.2 billion, of that total.

What kinds of properties, though, do those homebuyers prefer? In what areas are they looking for homes? And finally, how do they finance their purchases? Using data from the National Association of Realtors’, we put together the infographic below.
