Fifth Third Bank Chicago announced yesterday the hire of David Hilger to senior vice president of mortgage. In this role, Hilger will provide leadership and oversight to the Bank’s mortgage division.

This is a return of sorts for David, who was with Old Kent at the time of the Fifth Third acquisition ten years ago and served on the transition team. Hilger brings over 20 years of impressive mortgage experience in the Chicagoland area, having most recently worked with First Merit, and previously with Countrywide.

Hilger has over 20 years of industry experience and a bachelor’s degree from Northern Illinois University. He is an active member of the Illinois Mortgage Bankers Association and the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate. Personally, Hilger has enjoyed long-standing community service with the Oak Forest Park District and other local civic, social and community organizations.
