There is nothing better than being recognized for a job well done. In times like these, it is more important than ever to highlight those in the industry that are working hard and making things happen. 

Somehow, I turned around and it became November. We are barely two months away from the end of 2009, making this the perfect time to honor the best of the industry, as chosen by our readers. 

This year, we wanted to spread the love a little further and announce the top three nominees before naming a winner. A lot of the races were close calls, and we figured why not recognize all three companies/projects that are in the running.

Then, at our Agents’ Choice Awards event on Nov. 3, all the nominees gathered at Smartrooms: A Spaces and Views Showroom in the Merchandise Mart to hear the winners announced.

As always, the party was a great time, and it was nice to mingle and celebrate the nominees among gorgeous model kitchens. Many begged to know if they had won, but the CA staff kept a tight lip on the winners until the moment the awards were handed out. The tone was jovial and the tasty wine and treats helped put everyone in the right mood for a celebration. 

In the end, there was only one winner for each category, and their names are printed in our cover story starting on page 24, just in case the news hasn’t traveled to you yet. We’re also including the names of the nominees, as I truly believe in the old adage: it is an honor just to be nominated. 

Thousands of our readers responded to our survey this year, and we thank you all for your continued enthusiasm and support. Based on the way the market has been carrying on this year, anyone who is still in the game is considered a winner in my book.
