Josh Hill, Mortgage Loan Officer

Neighborhood Loans, NMLS # 1959673

With a unique dual career background, including a 25-year career as a firefighter and paramedic, Josh Hill spent the last five years as a lieutenant responsible for overseeing and mentoring other firefighters. “Firefighting is one of the most trusted professions,” he says. “I bring those strong qualities, including people skills and integrity, to the mortgage industry.”

A mortgage loan officer with Neighborhood Loans, Hill is a member of The Frontline Team, which includes fire, police and military veterans. While offering the typical conventional, jumbo and FHA loans, the team is exceptionally skilled in assisting clients with VA loans, non-qualified mortgages and investment products.

Hill’s current branch manager, who is also a former firefighter colleague, recruited him into the mortgage industry. “He realized how diligent I was during my own refinance experience,” he shares. “I already had a background in residential construction, a large professional network and my personality was a great fit for this career.”

This past year, Hill prioritized revamping his business systems and weekly routine, focusing on personal accountability and time efficiency. “I really take the time to educate my clients and know them personally in order to build trust,” he explains. “Trust and education reduce anxiety, and that helps everyone throughout the process.”

In May 2006, Hill was awarded the State of Illinois Firefighting Medal of Honor for the successful rescue of a fallen firefighter. He is the president of his local Project Fire Buddies chapter, helping build relationships between firefighters and children with serious illnesses. An outdoor enthusiast, he enjoys backpacking, hiking, fishing, dirt biking, working out and appreciating classic cars. “I want to make sure clients and referral partners know I am credible and professional,” he shares. “But I also like to break the banker stereotype and have a good time.”
