Because she grew up in a family business, Jackie Theisen witnessed firsthand the impacts that financial decisions can have on the future. This experience shaped her approach to selling real estate. A broker with @properties Christie’s International Real Estate in the northwestern suburbs, she always ensures that clients understand their options and the potential ramifications of each one.
A recipient of @properties’ 2024 Timeless and Visionary awards, Theisen is a responsive and creative strategic problem solver. “I’m known for staying calm and composed, even when the unexpected happens,” she shares. “It helps my clients feel confident and supported.”
Before entering the real estate industry, Theisen sold textiles for a Georgia-based manufacturer, which required her to work with architects, designers, business owners and developers. She experienced the housing boom firsthand and learned a great deal about the positives and negatives of margins, marketing, financing, corporate life and management. She also learned that building relationships is absolutely crucial.
“When you genuinely connect with a client or customer, it evolves into a partnership where both parties rely on each other,” Theisen explains. “I also quickly realized the importance of communication. Being responsive — returning calls, answering questions and keeping people informed — sets you apart from the competition. Even if you don’t have the answer immediately, acknowledging the client’s needs shows respect and builds trust.”
Theisen carried these practices over to real estate, which has had a positive effect on how she builds and maintains relationships with clients. Her previous experience also gave her a deeper understanding of the construction process, how design decisions are made and how trends begin. “It gives me a unique edge in understanding both the creative and practical aspects of a property,” she says.
Perpetually forward-thinking, Theisen makes sure that the guidance and advice she offers clients is practical in the present and beneficial for years to come.
