An eight-time recipient of JPMorganChase’s President’s Club award for ranking in its top 10 home-lending advisors nationally, Matt Flaherty is described by his clients as knowledgeable, responsive and a mortgage rock star. The 25-year industry veteran has topped $1.25 billion in loan volume and has closed more than 2,500 loans since 2010 for his clients at JPMorganChase with a strategy that includes quick closings and top-notch customer service.
“To assist clients in an ultra-competitive purchase market, I have successfully met closing dates in under 15 days, giving them an advantage over other buyers requiring financing and the opportunity to compete with cash buyers,” Flaherty explains. He adds that his team of dedicated assistants —Nick Natale, Melissa Mannix and Dave Poletti — share his obsession with consistently providing the highest level of service possible.
Because Flaherty understands that even the smoothest home purchase is stressful, he strives to make each client’s mortgage process as low-stress as possible by making himself available day and night to answer all questions, no matter how small. His goal is to ensure his clients receive a best-in-class mortgage experience whether they’re first-timers purchasing with 3 percent down or private clients in need of specialized jumbo mortgage products and programs. Although based in the JPMorganChase Tower in Chicago, Flaherty can assist clients with home lending in all 50 states.
Flaherty holds an economics degree from the University of Virginia and began his career in banking in 1999. In addition to his accolades from JPMorganChase, in 2016 he was named the Illinois Mortgage Bankers Association’s Best Mortgage Loan Officer in the large bank category. Still, he insists that the highest professional compliment he can receive is being referred to his clients’ friends and family or having past clients reach out again for their next home purchase or refinance.
He and his wife, Mary, live in North Center with their spoiled French Bulldog, Yogi, and are looking forward to a winter vacation on the Big Island of Hawaii. No word yet on how Yogi is taking this news.
