Jim Jefferson, Senior VP, Branch Manager

Rate

Jim Jefferson has a passion for helping veterans and first-time buyers secure mortgages. “We have many ‘firsts’ in our lives, but few milestones surpass buying your first home,” says Jefferson, senior vice president and branch manager at Rate. “Using my 25 years of experience to help educate and nurture first-time buyers is so rewarding,” he adds. Jefferson answers the questions clients don’t know to ask and uses many of Rate’s grant and assistance programs to provide them with additional funds to help with their purchase. Clients appreciate his ability to put together the best possible terms for their mortgage and set them up for success with a monthly payment that fits their budget.

Grateful for the veterans who serve our country, he’s honored to help every veteran he can fulfill their dream of owning a home by waiving all of their lender fees. He’s also proud to be part of a company that raised more than $1.1 million for nine different nonprofit organizations with its “Break the Bank” fundraiser during Military Appreciation Week.

Ranked among America’s top 1% of mortgage originators for 20 consecutive years, Jefferson has maintained President’s Club status for two decades and Chairman’s Circle for the past three years. He has earned five-star ratings on Google Business, Zillow and Facebook, as well as several Seven Star awards for excellence in customer experience and exemplary service to the community.

Jefferson left the auto industry in 1999, where he worked as a finance director of several auto dealerships, for a career in lending after a friend suggested it would be a good fit. In the present competitive marketplace, he is proud to have helped 5,000-plus families throughout his career purchase new homes.

“There may be dozens of different ways to structure a mortgage,” notes Jefferson. “But only one is best for my client. Having the ability to find the best mortgage for my clients has been instrumental to my success.”
