The former owner of Keefe Real Estate, Tom Keefe has been around real estate his entire life. “My grandfather started Keefe Real Estate in 1943,” he says. “My mom was an agent at Keefe when I was young, and, yes, I did help her stuff envelopes for her mailings.”
Keefe took over the family business in 2013, running the company until selling to Compass in 2021. “I made this decision because I felt that to be our best, we needed to join a larger organization with stronger tools for our agents and a wider network,” he says. “I chose Compass because I felt the merger would offer something to our team that no other brokerage could offer: the best tech and marketing platform in the business, support from the former Keefe management team, and a direct connection with Chicago.”
In Keefe’s new role as managing director of Lake Geneva for Compass, his focus is supporting former Keefe agents as they transition to Compass, as well as expanding Compass’ reach in the Wisconsin lakes area and beyond. “My vision of selling Keefe to Compass was to combine the best of what Keefe offered with the best of Compass, and we are starting to see that come to fruition,” he says.
Keefe and his wife plan to raise their twin daughters, Lucy and Rose, in Lake Geneva and look forward to staying in the area for a long time. “I am very happy to be living back home and look forward to remaining actively involved in the real estate community for years and decades to come,” he says.
