Prior to becoming an agent, Lauren Burjan spent more than 16 years as a fashion merchandising director for brands such as Victoria’s Secret and LOFT. “After working in the corporate world for so long, I wanted to be my own boss and build my own business,” she says.

Real estate has always been a topic of conversation at family dinners — Burjan’s in-laws own a commercial property business in La Grange. Her corporate career gave her a keen understanding of what clients want versus what they need, as well as an ability to overcome roadblocks and balance competing priorities — skills vital to the real estate industry. So when she decided to find a new career path where she could really make a difference in other people’s lives, she realized real estate was right in front of her.

“Helping people find a home, one of the biggest purchases of their life, is incredibly fulfilling,” she shares.

A native of the Chicagoland area, Burjan lived in a variety of neighborhoods — including Arlington Heights, the North Shore, Wicker Park and Logan Square — before settling down with her husband and their two French bulldogs in Forest Park, where they’ve spent the past seven years.

Burjan’s experience living all around Chicagoland allows her to service clients virtually anywhere, from city to suburbs. She especially loves helping people find homes in her local market of Forest Park, Oak Park and River Forest, as well as in Berwyn and Riverside. Her extensive background in merchandising and her love of interior design also helps her show clients the potential in any property.

Previously on a team in 2020 and 2021, Burjan finished her first year as a solo agent with over $6 million in sales.
