With 25 years of experience in loan processing and loan origination, Joanna Pranica has learned the ropes of the mortgage business from the ground up. As producing branch manager for Fairway Independent Mortgage Corp., the key to her success lies in her ability to address issues before they become problems. “I almost pre-underwrite my own files,” she says, “which makes my preapproval strong. This helps make closings occur on time and gives confidence to all the parties involved in the transaction.”
Pranica prides herself on creating an efficient and fun process for borrowers, aided by a team that shares the same vision and can step up when needed. She has implemented what she calls weekly “Tuesday Updates” with her team. “These updates put all team members on the same page and ensure timely closings,” adds Pranica. “The team also helps create a smooth loan process with no surprises before closing. I love seeing happy faces when families become homeowners. We believe in serving our clients for life.”
Working with first-time homebuyers is one of Pranica’s specialties, along with helping self-employed clients obtain loans. She also enjoys assisting those who need to borrow money for home renovation projects. Pranica is frequently praised for being a great communicator throughout the loan process. “My clients tell me that I have a great team and that they appreciate my professionalism, attention to detail, fast response and that the entire process is fast and smooth,” she says. “We use an easy online upload system instead of regular e-mail that is user friendly.”
Fairway has named Pranica to its Fairway Club for the past several years for outstanding performance, and she has been named to the company’s prestigious Presidential Club for 2022. She is a strong believer in continuously educating herself to discover better ways to serve her clients. All her experiences, she notes, have helped her become one of Chicagoland’s premiere lenders. “There are no mistakes or problems,” she says. “There are only opportunities to grow.”
