Turning a bad experience into a learning moment veered Peggy Alexa’s career path in the direction of real estate. When looking for a new home, Alexa’s family first worked with an agent who didn’t listen to their needs. But their next agent had excellent communication skills, leading them through an enjoyable buying process, and introducing Alexa to the idea of real estate as a career. “After a couple of years, our bumpy start to that journey made me realize I’d seen the worst and the best, and maybe I could do this,” she says. With her background in customer service and an emphasis in finance from Northern Illinois University, she decided to begin her new career in real estate. “It’s been 18 years now, and I haven’t looked back,” she says.
Team leader of the Alexa Group of RE/MAX 10, Alexa specializes in residential and luxury real estate sales in the Lincoln-Way area and the southwest suburbs. Growing up on the Southwest side of Chicago in Mt. Greenwood, she moved to the Lincoln-Way area 27 years ago, first to New Lenox and now in Frankfort for the past 23 years.
Alexa has helped over 600 families navigate through two unprecedented markets and accomplish their goals of moving on to their next chapter. Known to be honest, straightforward and trustworthy, her clients appreciate her attention to detail and upfront explanations during every step of the process. “I truly care about the people I get the privilege to serve,” she says. “I strive to treat every client like I would want to be treated.”
A member of Mainstreet Organization of Realtors, where Alexa has named among the top 1% in sales since 2019, she is also honored in the RE/MAX Hall of Fame and listed in the RE/MAX platinum sales division since 2016. She is a member of the Frankfort Chamber of Commerce and serves as vice president of BNI Southland Success. When not working, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, and has a goal to travel the world to experience her own “eat, pray, love” journey, she says.
