After a successful 20-year career in public relations, Cindy Wilson switched gears when an outplacement counselor suggested real estate. “From the time I was a little girl, I loved houses,” Wilson shares. “I remember house hunting with my mom when she taught me to look beyond decorating and focus on the bones of a house.” Now in the industry for 18 years, she regrets not starting earlier so she could have ridden the pre-recession wave longer. “I was just starting to get repeat business from my first clients when the market and economy ground to a halt in 2008,” she explains.
A broker with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Chicago, Wilson leads C+S Group with Stephanie Biederman, a longtime colleague and valued partner. A Chicago resident for more than 30 years, she learned the city by volunteering with The Junior League of Chicago and visiting neighborhood libraries as part of a children’s reading program.
Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices presented Wilson with the Chairman’s Circle Platinum Award for 2021, placing her in the top 1% of agents throughout the national and international network of BHHS. She was named the top individual producer in her office of more than 250 agents and one of the “Best of the Best” for BHHS Chicago in 2021. Recognized with company sales awards throughout her career, Wilson was an original member of Top Agent Network when it launched in Chicago several years ago.
Wilson gives back to many organizations, including the Lakeview Pantry, Friends for the Cure, Feeding America and the Greater Chicago Food Depository. She recently participated in her second new home build in West Pullman with Habitat for Humanity, which she also supports financially. She enjoys skiing, playing tennis and traveling, having caught the bug as a high school exchange student in Austria and a college student in London. “I’ve been lucky to travel throughout Europe since I was 16, most recently on a Trek Travel bike trip from Vienna to Prague, and I can’t wait to go back!”
