Stephanie Weisman, Realtor

Compass

As a young child, Stephanie Weisman’s thirst for knowledge about homes was insatiable. “My grandmother was a Realtor, and we used to drive around to open houses all over the North Shore for fun,” says Weisman, a Realtor with Compass. “She sparked an interest in me, and by the time I could read, I would have my mom order me Architectural Digest and Better Homes & Gardens as if they were Nancy Drew novels.”

Weisman knows the North Shore and city territories well; she grew up in Highland Park, lived and worked in the city after college and is now raising a family with her husband, David, in neighboring Deerfield. “Our children will be the fourth generation in my family to live on the North Shore,” she says. As a lifelong resident, she provides clients with an insider’s perspective on all the area has to offer in terms of housing stock, schools, amenities and community events that are bound to become family traditions.

Weisman’s knowledge of the city is just as strong. She and David met attending the University of Iowa, moved to Chicago after they married and have lived in the city for more than a decade. “I worked for Starwood Hotels, Hyatt and Marriott International in luxury group sales,” she says. “That is where I learned the importance of attention to detail and the nuances of client relationships.”

Whether it’s a first-time home purchase, an investment, a forever home or a client simply feels it’s time for a change in their lives, Weisman takes a hands-on, consultative approach and oftentimes knows what a client wants before they even realize it. If the pandemic were a test, Weisman would pass with high marks. Within her first 60 days at Compass, she came to terms on multiple deals.

Outside of work, she loves experiencing Chicago’s culinary scene and discovering neighborhood gems.
