A background in corporate sales is part of what helped build the entrepreneurial spirit of Chicago’s Jerzy Mastalerczyk, a broker with the Masta Group at Compass. After a retail career where he managed his business expertly, Mastalerczyk knows how to keep the real estate sales or purchase process running smoothly for clients in Chicago’s northwestern and northern suburbs, and his clients are never short of impressed.
“I really do my research before I start working with a client, and I go above and beyond to make sure they feel comfortable and that we have a solid plan for achieving their goals,” Mastalerczyk says of his process. “After working in sales most of my career, I know to listen to my clients, discover their true needs (which are often hidden) and apply data to find them the perfect solution.”
Now five years into his career, Mastalerczyk has earned a 2020 Top Producer award at Compass and closed 33 transactions last year. In each of his transactions, he keeps his focus on a few key indicators.
“It’s all about protecting my client and advocating for them,” he says. “Pointing out potential problems, making sure they’re ready to make a very calculated decision and being their cheerleader the whole time.” Mastalerczyk, a husband and father of a young son, says his sales background has also impressed upon him that today’s client experience can either make or break a future referral. “I make sure each client gets all my attention and feels like they’re my only client.”
Starting with a FaceTime or in-person consultation to talk goals, targets, timeline and logistics, Mastalerczyk creates a succinct path to get each buyer or seller from the start all the way to the closing table and ideal outcome.
“I’m an individual today, looking to expand into Florida,” he says. “But I’m also building a team and a legacy. I’m excited for the future.”
