Debbie Miller Cohen, a broker with Baird & Warner, has represented buyers, sellers and renters on the North Shore and the North Side of Chicago for the past eight years. Miller Cohen works with clients ranging from first-time homebuyers and renters to those in the luxury market.
Miller Cohen graduated with a finance degree from the University of Illinois and spent several years trading options at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. She grew up on the North Shore, has lived in the city and raised a family in Deerfield. She began her real estate career after, as she says, “I was selling my parents’ condo and thought, ‘I love doing this!’ Fast forward a few months, and I was holding my first open house!” She prides herself on working in both Chicago and the suburbs, saying, “I can help my clients transition from the city to the shore and vice versa, leaning on my extensive knowledge and experience in both marketplaces.”
Friendly and enthusiastic but not pushy, Miller Cohen has an ability to connect with clients that gives them the confidence to trust her advice with one of the biggest financial decision of their lives. Plus, it gives her great satisfaction to work with them toward a common goal. “I like to explain the process, the finances and everything that goes into a real estate transaction,” she shares. “This way, the clients feel more comfortable and there are fewer surprises.”
In 2020, Miller Cohen doubled her volume and production and landed in Baird & Warner’s Founder’s Club, in addition to earning an Excellence in Client Service award from Homesnap. “I couldn’t have done that without the extensive training and support I received from Baird & Warner,” she says, “especially from my manager, Lynn Kosner.”
Miller Cohen is a member of the North Shore-Barrington Association of Realtors, Military on the Move and Luxury Portfolio International. Active in the community, she participated in a build for Habitat for Humanity and supports Good Will Works, Baird & Warner’s charitable arm. She enjoys spending time with friends and family, traveling and going to theater and concerts.
