After purchasing her first home, Ashley Thompson, a former elementary school teacher, decided to make a career of helping others buy and sell theirs. “Educating buyers and sellers is a large part of real estate,” says Thompson, a broker and Seniors Real Estate Specialist with Baird & Warner. “So, that part of the buying and selling process comes naturally to me.”
Thompson has worked in real estate for seven years and mostly serves the northwestern suburbs. As a lifelong resident of the area, she can share with the buyers, sellers, relocation clients and older adults she represents all the wonderful reasons why it’s the perfect place to call home. Thompson now resides in Palatine, but she grew up in Mt. Prospect and has lived in Arlington Heights and Rolling Meadows.
Extremely communicative, she always answers every text, call and email in a timely manner and makes sure clients know she is available for them 24/7. “I am patient,” she says. “I take time to listen and understand my client’s needs and make sure all of their questions are answered.”
In 2020, she won the Mainstreet Organization of Realtors’ Gold award for reaching the top 3% of transactions. “Having a background in education has helped tremendously,” she notes. “Buyers and sellers enjoy learning about the real estate process, and I truly enjoy teaching them about listing agreements, contracts, marketing plans…”
Thompson treats every transaction as a learning experience. “No matter how smooth or difficult the transaction is, I take something away from each one,” she shares. “This has allowed me to constantly evolve and improve my real estate skills over the years.”
Living by the golden rule, she treats everyone — not only clients, but also other agents — with kindness and respect. “I always try to make my transactions go as smoothly as possible,” she remarks. “No one wants to have a transaction with a difficult agent.”
