As a third-generation real estate agent, Jon Millikin understands the importance of being honest with both his clients and himself. For 19 years, Millikin’s transparency and market expertise have led clients to trust him as a partner while navigating one of the most important transactions of their lives.
As a real estate agent for Jameson Sotheby’s International Realty, Millikin ensures a seamless transaction for buyers and sellers throughout the northwestern suburbs. He became inspired to start his own career after watching his father and grandmother work as real estate brokers. His grandfather owned his own brokerage company and sold real estate until the age of 90. Millikin’s career began while working as a leasing agent for his college finance professor, who was also co-owner of the University Group in Champaign-Urbana. He moved to Florida for a few years to lead a 1,081-unit condominium conversion before returning to Chicago.
Millikin knows how crucial it is to tell clients the truth, rather than simply what they want to hear. His approach has led to a business made up of more than 90% referrals. The transaction process is daunting, but Millikin wouldn’t want to be doing anything else other than assisting his clients. “You are one of the most important people in the process of them finding a home in which to raise their family and build a lifetime of memories,” he says. “What greater responsibility and pleasure could one ask for from a profession?”
Millikin has consistently been a Chicago Association of Realtors top producer, and the organization has continuously recognized him among its top 1%. In 2018, Jameson Sotheby’s International Realty presented him with the award for being the No. 1 top-producing agent in the Barrington office. Millikin was also recently ranked among Jameson Sotheby’s top 10 and top 40 agents in the company overall in terms of production. His proudest personal accomplishment within the past year came from outside the industry — 2020 marks his 20th year as a licensed pilot.
