Jon Altizer, Originating Manager, Altizer Paloucek Group

Senior Vice President of Mortgage Lending, Guaranteed Rate Affinity

Ranking among the Scotsman Guide’s top 1% of mortgage originators in the country for the last decade, Jon Altizer, senior vice president of mortgage lending at Guaranteed Rate Affinity, brings 25 years of experience to the table. As co-founder, along with C.J. Paloucek, of the Altizer Paloucek Group, Altizer provides detailed, thorough and efficient service to every client. “I am blessed to have a great team that I co-manage with my business partner,” says Altizer, who serves as originating manager for the team.

Specializing in conventional, jumbo, FHA and VA loans, Altizer serves buyers, refinancers and investors, as well as real estate brokers, attorneys and financial planners in Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, Indiana, Iowa and Texas. About half of his business is composed of repeat clients.

Setting expectations at the start of the process to improve the customer experience, Altizer helps clients feel confident in and comfortable with every aspect of the transaction. “We put everything in writing,” Altizer says. “We don’t like surprises when it comes to people’s money.”

Altizer, a full-time originator since 2001, has a background in the Korean martial art of hapkido and attributes his centered demeanor and focus to his practice. At the same time, he strives to make the lending process as fun and easygoing as possible for clients who prefer that style of assistance. “Some clients or agents want to be all business, and that’s OK, too,” he adds.

Altizer is adamant about giving back to the community and has held events at the Northern Illinois Food Bank, led beach cleanup efforts in Illinois and Michigan, and helped out at the Ronald McDonald House. He is the proud dad of two athletic teenagers.
