There for her clients every step of the way, Jenn Asokumar prioritizes customer service over her own financial gain and provides her buyers and sellers with the support they need to accomplish their goals. “My personal experience made me realize that the industry needed experts who truly cared for the emotional and financial well-being of homebuyers and sellers,” says Asokumar.
A longtime resident of Chicago and an expert in the Gold Coast, Lincoln Park, River North, Streeterville, South Loop and West Loop markets, Asokumar assists individuals and families looking to make the next step in their lives — particularly those in the medical and legal fields. In a world of technology tools and broker assistants, Asokumar emphasizes the personal touch in client relationships. “Clients appreciate my deep connections, whether it’s navigating the school system, getting access to the best attorneys or coming up with innovative solutions to problems,” she says. “I provide information that isn’t readily available to the public so my clients can make educated decisions.”
Named Rookie of the Year by the Chicago Association of Realtors in 2017, Asokumar made the transition to Compass a year later, working tirelessly to brand herself as not only a Realtor but also a friend and confidante. Prior to earning her license, Asokumar spent over 15 years in management and technology consulting roles. “With my technology background, I understand how to use Compass’ tools and social media campaigns to not only promote properties via innovative campaigns but also reach out to sellers on behalf of buyers to find the property that they are looking for,” Asokumar says. Last year, she sold a property in just three months after it had been on the market for 1,100 days under two other top brokers.
Asokumar is a Realtor member and active parent at the University of Chicago Laboratory Schools. She volunteers for Chicago Lights, Apna Ghar and America Needs You. As a mother, wife, daughter and agent, Asokumar is most proud of her ability to strike a balance between her many responsibilities. “Being in charge of selling or finding a home for others empowers me to see the positive things in life while still finding time for everything else,” she says.
