Ranked among the best loan officers in the nation, Daryn Peterson has received numerous accolades for his contributions to the mortgage industry throughout his 14-year career. As the vice president of lending at Blueleaf Lending, Peterson provides boutique-level customer service combined with the resources of a large financial institution.
Assisting everyone from first-time buyers to seasoned investors in all 50 states, Peterson presents clients with an individualized plan for long-term wealth planning. “I’m very transparent about every aspect of the business and am willing to tell a client the truth, even if they don’t want to hear it,” he says, adding that this involves setting realistic expectations upfront and dispelling expectations of instant gratification. “I aim to provide both my professional and personal opinion about any given scenario.” Throughout the years, Peterson has maintained a 75 percent purchase-based business and continues to accrue referrals from satisfied customers.
As a goal-oriented professional, Peterson is working toward closing at least one loan in every state and reaching more than $1 billion in loan volume. “I’m currently at 38 states and $750 million, so I hope to accomplish both milestones within the next three to four years,” he says.
Self-described as “obsessive about financial planning,” Peterson has built a strong team of colleagues who are as committed to delivering top-notch service as he is.
Peterson has been named an Illinois Community Bank Loan Officer of the Year and a Scotsman Guide Top Originator. His previous employer, Wintrust, recognized him as a Retail Recruit of the Year, Origination News Top Producer and President’s Club member.
Peterson is a graduate of the University of Illinois and a former advertising professional. He is passionate about his family and friends and wakes up every morning with the intention to be a better person.
