For Rubina Bokhari, vice president of sales at Jameson Sotheby’s International Realty, putting the needs of her clients first at all times has been instrumental to her success. After 10 years spent in the real estate industry, Bokhari continues to serve clients in a variety of markets and aims to adapt to the needs of each one.
Bokhari graduated summa cum laude with a degree in management information systems before beginning a career as an IT consultant. She went on to hold a 13-year career in risk management at Discover Financials, HSBC and CapitalOne, but wanted to pursue a career that she was very passionate about: real estate. Since joining the industry, Rubina works hard to stay competitive in the evolving real estate market. She holds a number of designations within the National Association of Realtors, including Accredited Buyer Representative, Certified Negotiation Expert, Brokers Price Opinion, Sellers Representation Specialist and Certified Luxury Home Marketing Specialist.
Bokhari specializes in luxury real estate properties, but sells homes at all price points. She has received five-star reviews from all of her clients. Ninety percent of her business comes from client referrals, which speaks to her service. “I don’t base my biggest sales accomplishments by the dollar amount of the sales,” she says. “Instead I base it upon how happy my clients are with my service.”
Crain’s Custom Media recognized Bokhari on its list of Chicago’s Most Influential Real Estate Brokers. She has also been a top-producing agent according to the Chicago Association of Realtors for the past five years. In 2017, she received the award for Exceptional Sales Volume from Jameson Sotheby’s International Realty.
Bokhari is passionate about giving back and has built philanthropy into her business. At the end of each transaction, she donates a portion of her commission to the charity of her client’s choice. “It’s so great to see so many great organizations out there doing so many great things,” she says. “It’s what keeps me grateful and humble.”
Outside of work, Bokhari enjoys traveling and dining at her favorite restaurants in Chicago. She also loves spending time with family, and her biggest personal accomplishment this past year was watching her daughter graduate from New York University with magna cum laude honors.
