The Details
Does your office have any specialties? We specialize in luxury properties in the downtown Chicago market as well as a great cross section of the entire market. We are a full-service company with agents who specialize in everything from the first-time buyer to the most savvy investor, to celebrities and the top CEOs of the market.
What do you expect of your agents? I expect my agents to be the most professional, respected and trained agents in the market. We continually strive to set the bar high and have the leaders of the industry. I also expect them to be active within the community.
How are you approaching the challenges of the current market? Education and motivation — it is imperative to have a pulse on the landscape of the ever-changing Chicago market. Information is power, and thus our clients are informed and educated to make the best decisions for themselves. We are also an office with a lot of energy and enthusiasm, which helps keep positive attitudes.
How do you get new agents acclimated to the company? If they are new to the business we offer a two-week training class covering all aspects of the business. For the experienced agent, we offer weekly training in our office and there are always classes available in other Chicagoland Coldwell Banker offices that our agents can attend. We also offer training in our corporate office.
About You — Andy M. Shiparski
What makes you different than any other managing broker? I bring 22 years of sales experience to the table and I am committed to my agents and their careers. I am interested in building their careers and supporting them in achieving the goals they set. I hold them to higher standards and tell them the truth and not necessarily what they want to hear. My personal mission is to earn their respect and trust. I believe great leaders motivate, encourage and inspire individuals to step out of their comfort zone. We must all work on our weak- nesses and focus on becoming better.
What was your history before being a managing broker? I was in college and playing football. After real- izing the dream of playing professionally ended, I chose to get into real estate at the age of 22 and have been in the business since.
What do you like most about the neighborhood where you work? There is an energy and electric feel working on the Mag Mile. It is unlike any other neighborhood in the city. Driving to my office every morning as the sun rises offers me the most amazing view of the city.
Why do you love real estate? It is one of the most fulfilling things in life when you are part of elevating a person to levels of achieve- ment they never dreamed they could achieve. I’m able to accomplish more because I have the greatest staff in the city and they are as committed as I am to creating the ultimate office environment in the city.
