Cathy Walsh
Brush Hill Realtors/
Baird & Warner Real Estate
Broker Associate
Cathy Walsh is a familiar face in Chicago’s real estate community. She has worked in the industry for 18 years, and is currently a broker associate with Brush Hill Realtors/Baird & Warner Real Estate, where she specializes in all types of properties and clients in the city as well as the western suburbs. “I do not limit my practice to any one type of buyer or seller,” she says. “I like the variety and the challenges of helping people in different stages of their life.”
Helping comes naturally to Walsh. Before earning her real estate license, she was a nurse for six years, and then earned her interior design degree. Inspired by the success of her interior design practice, Walsh founded a design-build firm. It was only a matter of time before building homes wasn’t enough, so Walsh obtained her real estate license to sell them, too.
“My background in interior design and construction plays a huge part in my ability to inform both sellers and buyers of industry standards, design trends and the potential negatives of a property,” Walsh says. “Many buyers are only concerned with the acquisition of a home. I am also concerned with an exit strategy when it comes time to sell the home they plan to purchase. I look at the overall picture.”
In 2016, Walsh was named a member of the Baird & Warner Chairman’s Club and was honored as one of the leading producers in the office. She has experienced her share of difficult transactions, like the condo she sold requiring a cash-only buyer.
Walsh is a Certified Residential Specialist, Certified Negotiations Expert and Seller’s Representative Strategist. In her spare time, she volunteers as a docent for the Chicago Architecture Foundation, sits on the board of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, and indulges her passions for photography, travel and gardening.
