Ben Cohen went into the mortgage lending business because he wanted to serve others, and for the last 14 years, he’s spent every day helping clients pursue their own goals for the future. Cohen is the Senior Vice President of Mortgage Lending at Guaranteed Rate and works with a diverse range of clients including first-time buyers, investors, growing families in search of a bigger home, current homeowners looking to refinance, and those interested in downsizing.

In 2016, Cohen funded over $335 million, setting a new personal record and earning Mortgage Executive magazine’s title of top lender in Illinois and fifth-highest in the country. He also grew his business through building a loyal customer base, securing a bright future full of repeat clients and referrals.

“Customer service is my main focus, and I maintain transparency and communication throughout the loan process,” he says. “I follow up after the loan closes to ensure my clients are satisfied and I value any feedback they can provide me.”

Cohen prides himself and his team on their ability to get their clients the lowest rates available and to close all loans in 20 days or less. He attributes this success to their collective knowledge, professionalism and accessibility, as well as their passion for the job. “Many of my clients become friends after the transaction is complete, which I believe says a lot, and reinforces the love I have for my career,” he says.

An active member within his community, Cohen is a member of several local chambers of commerce and supports the Jewish United Fund. He is thankful for the tremendous support of his family in both his life and career.
