Tony Lupescu’s background as a Certified Public Accountant has helped him expertly navigate even the most complex lending situations. His acumen for understanding clients’ finances, reading complicated tax returns, and educating clients on the mortgage lending process distinguishes him as one of the best loan officers in Chicago. He has earned recognitions as the top producer nationwide for Fifth Third Bank for both purchase volume funding and total volume for the past three years, and has also has been ranked by the Scotsman Guide as one of the country’s top loan originators. A go-to problem solver, he is frequently tapped to be an expert presenter at industry conferences, sharing his expertise with colleagues.

“I’ve always been motivated to work as hard as I can for outstanding results,” Lupescu says. He decided to transition from his career in accounting to one in loan origination to work more closely with people. The clients who depend on him for their financing range from first-time buyers to highly experienced luxury buyers, but Lupescu specializes in physician mortgages as well. Lupescu’s clients take comfort in his talent to originate simple and complex loans, as well as his skill in streamlining the process. While seasoned buyers typically know the ins and outs of the lending experience, Lupescu makes certain to take special care educating first-time buyers. “Many first-time buyers do not know the answers or even the questions to ask, so I make certain to explain everything to them in detail,” he says. “I want them to feel very comfortable asking me whatever they want to know because what they learn will help them make the best financial decisions.”

His wife and sons, Lupescu adds, are his greatest inspiration, as they have helped him increase his 2015 production by more than 50 percent over the year prior. While Lupescu’s accomplishments speak for themselves, he makes certain to give credit to the multilingual team that helps make his success possible. “Together, we create a seamless process from start to finish, while keeping everyone informed. That lets people know we take what we do very seriously.”
