Chicago natives Theo Jordan and Katie Cassman recognize that clear, consistent communication is critical in building and maintaining strong client relationships. “This career never lets you forget why you have two ears and only one mouth.” The two listen carefully, ask the right questions and help their clients prioritize needs they didn’t initially think were important. “A home purchase can be an emotional situation, and that’s when honest advice is most important,” the pair agrees. “Walls come down and that’s when deals get done.”
Jordan and Cassman watch market trends carefully and understand
how the shifts in the market may affect their clients’ needs, which is why Cassman says quick responses times are crucial. “We strive to be available whenever our clients need us because we know the Chicago real estate market is fast-paced and subject to change on a dime,” she says. Jordan adds that “no one can control the market, but you can learn from experience and become a valuable resource for your client.”
Named a Top-Rated Estate Agent by Top Rated Media, Inc., Jordan is also a Certified Negotiation Expert and holds Short Sales and Foreclosure Resource Certifications. She earned her broker’s license immediately after graduating from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a degree in business economics. In 2015, the Chicago Association of Realtors named her a top producer, and her impressive 97 percent average list-to-sale price helped earn her that distinction. She serves clients with a range of diverse needs, but particularly identifies with Millennials. She excels at both marketing properties for sale and finding buyers exactly what they want— whether listed or unlisted. “I love getting to know people and finding out what motivates them, so real estate is the ideal profession because it allows me to understand how outside variables affect what and how we buy,” she says.
After a number of years in corporate America, Cassman left the marketing and PR industry to join forces with her longtime friend to form Jordan & Cassman Real Estate.
Cassman’s extensive knowledge of the city complements her marketing, public relations and social media background, which in turn complements
her real estate business. “I keep my finger on the pulse of what’s going on in the city,” says the University of Kansas graduate. A member of the Chicago Association of Realtors and Windy City Blogger Collective, she specializes in helping first-time buyers explore and understand the eclectic Chicago market.
Jordan serves as secretary of the @gives back Community Fund through which @properties works to positively impact the city’s communities. “It’s easy to get wrapped up in the hustle and bustle of real estate and forget the bigger picture,” she says. “I’m fortunate to be a part of a group of like- minded peers. Reality checks in real estate are very necessary.” Cassman also actively volunteers with various organizations including Bright Pink, Jewish United Fund’s Tikkun Olan Volunteer Network and Midwest Palliative & Hospice CareCenter. Supporting their city as both professionals and volunteers helps this pair connect more closely with the city they call home. “We want to be the best advisors, client confidants and people we can be,” Jordan says, “and then we know we’re the best Realtors we can be.”
