“I don’t wait for things to happen; I make things happen,” says Related Realty’s Mack Alsaidi. This longtime Chicagoland resident and accomplished broker specializes in buyers and sellers.

Since entering the industry a little over a decade ago, Alsaidi’s achievements are nearly too numerous to list. In 2014, he was in “Who’s Who in Chicagoland Real Estate” by Chicago Agent magazine and was awarded the top agent award by Trulia. So far in 2016, Alsaidi has been featured on the cover of Top Agent Magazine and given the American Institute of Real Estate Professionals’ 10 Best award for client satisfaction. He holds multiple designations, including Certified Negotiation Expert.

“I didn’t grow up wealthy — I worked two full-time jobs while attending school full-time,” Alsaidi recalls. The pride he felt when he helped his family buy their first home — and the desire to help others achieve that same exhilaration — are what drive him to work so relentlessly. “It’s hard for people to find the right home, but I love knowing that I can help them in the process,” explains Alsaidi. “My career helps people achieve the American dream of homeownership and that’s what keeps me going.”

Alsaidi credits much of his success to networking and building meaningful relationships; those connections often grant him access to properties that have yet to be listed. “That kind of insider information means that my clients get the first look at what could be the perfect home for them, and that’s a huge advantage,” Alsaidi says.

His time in the U.S. Army as a cultural advisor and linguist helped to strengthen Alsaidi’s listening and negotiating skills, especially
in tense circumstances. “It was a lot like what I do in real estate,” he says, “because I negotiate with agents who represent sellers and buyers to insure an agreement is established.” Alsaidi’s military service earned him the Achievement Medal for Civilian Service as well as the Commander’s Award for Civilian Service for outstanding achievement during Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation New Dawn.

Alsaidi’s passion for his work has led him to invest in real estate himself. He is a member of the Chicago Association of Realtors and the American Institute of Real Estate Professionals. Additionally, he supports Cycle for Survival, a charitable organization that raises funds to combat rare cancers. He cherishes the time he spends with his mother and two sisters, but says the other great love of his life is, and always will be, real estate. “My heart was bursting with joy when I purchased my first property, so helping others feel that kind of happiness is truly my passion,” he says.
